About Us

Siberian CraneThe Siberian Crane Grus leucogeranus is the third rarest and one of the most threatened crane species. It is a large, charismatic crane that symbolizes good luck and a happy marriage, but the species is threatened by hunting and loss of wetland habitat throughout its range in Eurasia.

In response to these threats, the Siberian Crane Flyway Conservation Program is working to bring together researchers, governments, and local people in conserving the species and the wetlands on which it depends.

This website is the platform for the Memorndum of Understanding Concerning Conservation Measures for the Siberian Crane under Convention of Migratory Species (CMS).
